"4chan Hacked", Most Popular Image-Bulletin Board Compromised

Apr 30, 2014
The founder of 4chan , Christopher Poole , aka “moot” has confirmed few hours ago, in a blog post that the popular image-based bulletin board was hacked. The attacker gained access to the administrative functions and successfully hacked into one of 4chan’s database by exploiting a website's software vulnerability last week. The motive behind the hack was to expose the posting habits of a specific user the attacker didn't like, moot wrote. It is believed that the software vulnerability allowed the attacker to hack into only the image-board moderation panels, and some tables in the 4chan back-end database . According to the blog post, the way hacker extracted the information from its database, 4chan knows the “ detailed logs of what was accessed”, which indicate that the “primarily moderator account names ” and their “credentials” were targeted and compromised by the hacker. " Due to the way the intruder extracted information from the database, we have detailed logs of wh...

UGNazi hackers attack on CloudFlare via a flaw in Google After the FBI arrested Cosmo, the alleged leader of the UGNazi hacking group, the hackers attacked CloudFlare via a flaw in Google's two-factor authentication system. The CloudFlare hack allowed UGNazi to change the DNS for 4chan, so visitors to the site were redirected to a UGNazis Twitter account. Hackers were able to infiltrate the personal Gmail account of CloudFlare CEO Matthew Prince. "The attack was the result a compromise of Google's account security procedures that allowed the hacker to eventually access to my CloudFlare.com email addresses, which runs on Google Apps," CloudFare's CEO Matthew Prince shared . According to the statement on Pastebin , the hackers are not sorry for attacking 4chan.  4chan.org is the playground that allows pedophiles to share their "collections" and the disgusting bronies to hang out. ⚡ Weekly Recap: iOS Zero-Days, 4Chan Breach, NTLM Exploits, WhatsApp Spyware & More

Apr 21, 2025 Cybersecurity / Hacking News
Can a harmless click really lead to a full-blown cyberattack? Surprisingly, yes — and that’s exactly what we saw in last week’s activity. Hackers are getting better at hiding inside everyday actions: opening a file, running a project, or logging in like normal. No loud alerts. No obvious red flags. Just quiet entry through small gaps — like a misconfigured pipeline, a trusted browser feature, or reused login tokens. These aren’t just tech issues — they’re habits being exploited. Let’s walk through the biggest updates from the week and what they mean for your security. ⚡ Threat of the Week Recently Patched Windows Flaw Comes Under Active Exploitation — A recently patched security flaw affecting Windows NTLM has been exploited by malicious actors to leak NTLM hashes or user passwords and infiltrate systems since March 19, 2025. The flaw, CVE-2025-24054 (CVSS score: 6.5), is a hash disclosure spoofing bug that was fixed by Microsoft last month as part of its Patch Tuesday updates...

With so much of the world transitioning to working, shopping, studying, and streaming online during the coronavirus pandemic, cybercriminals now have access to a larger base of potential victims than ever before. "Zoombomb"  became the new photobomb—hackers would gain access to a private meeting or online class hosted on Zoom and shout  profanities and racial slurs  or flash  pornographic images . Nation-state hacker groups mounted attacks against organizations involved in the coronavirus pandemic response, including the World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, some in an attempt to politicize the pandemic. Even garden-variety cyber attacks like email phishing, social engineering, and refund theft took on a darker flavor in response to the widespread economic precarity brought on by the pandemic.  "Hackers were mostly trying to take advantage of people's fear by offering medical equipment like thermometers and masks for cheap...

Using stolen credentials, Garofano then managed to steal victims' personal information, including their sensitive and intimate photographs and videos, from their iCloud accounts, and then leaked them on online forums, like 4Chan.
