How to Hack WiFi Password Easily Using New Attack On WPA/WPA2

How to Hack WiFi Password Easily Using New Attack On WPA/WPA2

Nov 25, 2018
Looking for how to hack WiFi password OR WiFi hacking software? Well, a security researcher has revealed a new WiFi hacking technique that makes it easier for hackers to crack WiFi passwords of most modern routers. Discovered by the lead developer of the popular password-cracking tool Hashcat, Jens 'Atom' Steube, the new WiFi hack works explicitly against WPA/WPA2 wireless network protocols with Pairwise Master Key Identifier (PMKID)-based roaming features enabled. The attack to compromise the WPA/WPA2 enabled WiFi networks was accidentally discovered by Steube while he was analyzing the newly-launched WPA3 security standard . This new WiFi hacking method could potentially allow attackers to recover the Pre-shared Key (PSK) login passwords, allowing them to hack into your Wi-Fi network and eavesdrop on the Internet communications. How to Hack WiFi Password Using PMKID According to the researcher, the previously known WiFi hacking methods require attackers to wai...

The risks associated with data breaches continue to grow, impacting a variety of industries, tech firms, and social networking platforms. In the past few months, over 1 Billion credentials were dumped online as a result of mega breaches in popular social networks. Now, Oracle is the latest in the list. Oracle has confirmed that its MICROS division – which is one of the world's top three point-of-sale (POS) services the company acquired in 2014 – has suffered a security breach. Hackers had infected hundreds of computers at Oracle's point-of-sale division, infiltrated the support portal used by customers, and potentially accessed sales registers all over the world. The software giant came to know about the data breach after its staff discovered malicious code on the MICROS customer support portal and certain legacy MICROS systems. Hackers likely installed malware on the troubleshooting portal in order to capture customers' credentials as they logged in. These us...

Hacker Distributes Backdoored IoT Vulnerability Scanning Script to Hack Script Kiddies

Nov 09, 2017
Nothing is free in this world. If you are searching for free hacking tools on the Internet, then beware—most freely available tools, claiming to be the swiss army knife for hackers, are nothing but a scam. For example, Cobian RAT and a Facebook hacking tool that we previously reported on The Hacker News actually could hack, but of the one who uses them and not the one you desire to hack. Now, a security researcher has spotted another hacking tool—this time a PHP script—which is freely available on multiple popular underground hacking forums and allows anyone to find vulnerable internet-connected IP Cameras running the vulnerable version of GoAhead embedded web-server. However, after closely analysing the scanning script, Newsky Security researcher Ankit Anubhav found that the tool also contains a secret backdoor, which essentially allows its creator to " hack the hacker. " "For an attacker's point of view, it can be very beneficial to hack a hacker," ...
How to Hack a Computer Using Just An Image

How to Hack a Computer Using Just An Image

Jun 01, 2015
Next time when someone sends you a photo of a cute cat or a hot chick than be careful before you click on the image to view — it might hack your machine. Yes, the normal looking images could hack your computers — thanks to a technique discovered by security researcher Saumil Shah from India. Dubbed " Stegosploit ," the technique lets hackers hide malicious code inside the pixels of an image, hiding a malware exploit in plain sight to infect target victims. Just look at the image and you are HACKED! Shah demonstrated the technique during a talk titled , " Stegosploit: Hacking With Pictures, " he gave on Thursday at the Amsterdam hacking conference Hack In The Box. According to Shah, "a good exploit is one that is delivered in style." Keeping this in mind, Shah discovered a way to hide malicious code directly into an image, rather than hiding it in email attachments, PDFs or other types of files that are typically used to deliver...
WiFiPhisher — Automated Phishing Attacks Against Wi-Fi Networks

WiFiPhisher — Automated Phishing Attacks Against Wi-Fi Networks

Jan 05, 2015
A Greek security researcher, named George Chatzisofroniou , has developed a WiFi social engineering tool that is designed to steal credentials from users of secure Wi-Fi networks. The tool, dubbed WiFiPhisher , has been released on the software development website GitHub on Sunday and is freely available for users. "It's a social engineering attack that does not use brute forcing in contrast to other methods. It's an easy way to get WPA passwords ," said George Chatzisofroniou. However, there are several hacking tools available on the Internet that can hack a secure Wi-Fi network, but this tool automates multiple Wi-Fi hacking techniques which make it slightly different from others. WiFiPhisher tool uses "Evil Twin" attack scenario. Same as Evil Twin, the tool first creates a phony wireless Access Point (AP) masquerade itself as the legitimate Wi-Fi AP. It then directs a denial of service (DoS) attack against the legitimate Wi-Fi access poi...

Crazy! Hacker Implants NFC Chip In His Hand To Hack Android Phones

Apr 28, 2015
There is a very sleek line between hacking and security. The security used to protect the public could be misused by hackers against the public itself, and one shouldn't forget that with the advance in technology, the techniques used by cyber criminals also improves. Today, What hackers need to conduct a successful cyber attack? Maybe just a computing device injected under the skin of their bodies, who can bear the pain, would be enough to help complete a successful cyber attack – also known as Biohacking . This was exactly what presented by the former U.S. Navy petty officer and now engineer at APA Wireless Seth Wahle . With no malicious intention, Wahle implanted a small NFC chip in his left hand right between his thumb and his pointer finger in order to display the risks of Biohacking. Hacking Android devices using NFC implants: For those unaware, NFC (Near Field Communications) chips embedded in our smartphone devices are used for transferring files and in various mobile pa...

How A Drone Can Infiltrate Your Network by Hovering Outside the Building

Oct 07, 2015
Imagine you are sitting in your office and working on something confidential. Once you are done, you send a command to print that document. But, What if...  ...the whole confidential document send to a hacker attacking from the air? Sounds pity but may be your Boss fires you immediately if that confidential data is leaked or misused. This is no more an imagination now, as a group of researchers has done exactly the same. Researchers from Singapore have devised a unique set up consisting of a Drone that carries a smartphone running two custom apps that are capable of intercepting wireless printer transmissions, even from outside an office building. In short, hackers can gain access to your corporate network by using a smartphone-equipped drone to hack your printer. The project was developed by the researchers at iTrust , a research center at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. They developed two applications: Cybersecurity Patrol – ...
Key Lesson from Microsoft’s Password Spray Hack: Secure Every Account

Key Lesson from Microsoft's Password Spray Hack: Secure Every Account

Mar 25, 2024 Data Breach / Password Security
In January 2024, Microsoft discovered they'd been the  victim of a hack  orchestrated by Russian-state hackers Midnight Blizzard (sometimes known as Nobelium). The concerning detail about this case is how easy it was to breach the software giant. It wasn't a highly technical hack that exploited a zero-day vulnerability – the hackers used a simple password spray attack to take control of an old, inactive account. This serves as a stark reminder of the importance of password security and why organizations need to protect every user account.  Password spraying: A simple yet effective attack The hackers gained entry by using a  password spray attack in November 2023 , Password spraying is a relatively simple brute force technique that involves trying the same password against multiple accounts. By bombarding user accounts with known weak and compromised passwords, the attackers were able to gain access to a legacy non-production test account within the Microsoft syste...
Major Instagram App Bug Could've Given Hackers Remote Access to Your Phone

Major Instagram App Bug Could've Given Hackers Remote Access to Your Phone

Sep 24, 2020
Ever wonder how hackers can hack your smartphone remotely? In a report shared with The Hacker News today, Check Point researchers disclosed details about a  critical vulnerability  in Instagram's Android app that could have allowed remote attackers to take control over a targeted device just by sending victims a specially crafted image. What's more worrisome is that the flaw not only lets attackers perform actions on behalf of the user within the Instagram app—including spying on victim's private messages and even deleting or posting photos from their accounts—but also execute arbitrary code on the device. According to an  advisory  published by Facebook, the heap overflow security issue (tracked as CVE-2020-1895 , CVSS score: 7.8) impacts all versions of the Instagram app prior to 128.0.0.26.128, which was released on February 10 earlier this year. "This [flaw] turns the device into a tool for spying on targeted users without their knowledge, as well as enablin...

16-Year-Old Boy Who Hacked Apple's Private Systems Gets No Jail Time

Sep 27, 2018
An Australian teenager who pleaded guilty to break into Apple's private systems  multiple times over several months and download some 90GB of secure files has avoided conviction and will not serve time in prison. An Australian Children's Court has given the now 19-year-old adult defendant, who was 16 at the time of committing the crime, a probation order of eight months, though the magistrate made him understand how serious his offense was. The teen, whose cannot be named under a local law that protects the identity of juveniles, told the court that he hacked into Apple's systems because he was a huge fan of the company and "dreamed of" working for the technology giant. The "Hacky Hack Hack" Folder The teen hacked into Apple's servers not once, but numerous times over the course of more than a year—between June 2015 and November 2016, and in April 2017. As soon as the tech giant detected his presence on their servers, it blocked him and...
