Five Malicious Chrome Extensions Impersonate Workday and NetSuite to Hijack Accounts

Five Malicious Chrome Extensions Impersonate Workday and NetSuite to Hijack Accounts

Jan 16, 2026 Browser Security / Enterprise Security
Cybersecurity researchers have discovered five new malicious Google Chrome web browser extensions that masquerade as human resources (HR) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms like Workday, NetSuite, and SuccessFactors to take control of victim accounts. "The extensions work in concert to steal authentication tokens, block incident response capabilities, and enable complete account takeover through session hijacking," Socket security researcher Kush Pandya said in a Thursday report. The names of the extensions are listed below - DataByCloud Access (ID: oldhjammhkghhahhhdcifmmlefibciph, Published by: databycloud1104) - 251 Installs Tool Access 11 (ID: ijapakghdgckgblfgjobhcfglebbkebf, Published by: databycloud1104) - 101 Installs DataByCloud 1 (ID: mbjjeombjeklkbndcjgmfcdhfbjngcam, Published by: databycloud1104) - 1,000 Installs DataByCloud 2 (ID: makdmacamkifdldldlelollkkjnoiedg, Published by: databycloud1104) - 1,000 Installs Software Access (ID: bmodapc...
Another Critical Flaw Found In Drupal Core—Patch Your Sites Immediately

Another Critical Flaw Found In Drupal Core—Patch Your Sites Immediately

Apr 19, 2018
It's time to update your Drupal websites, once again. For the second time within a month , Drupal has been found vulnerable to another critical vulnerability that could allow remote attackers to pull off advanced attacks including cookie theft, keylogging, phishing and identity theft. Discovered by the Drupal security team, the open source content management framework is vulnerable to cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability that resides in a third-party plugin CKEditor which comes pre-integrated in Drupal core to help site administrators and users create interactive content. CKEditor is a popular JavaScript-based WYSIWYG rich text editor which is being used by many websites, as well as comes pre-installed with some popular web projects. According to a security advisory released by CKEditor, the XSS vulnerability stems from the improper validation of " img " tag in Enhanced Image plugin for CKEditor 4.5.11 and later versions. This could allow an attacker to...
Google Chrome to encrypt Stored Cookies by default to enhance browser security

Google Chrome to encrypt Stored Cookies by default to enhance browser security

Jan 09, 2014
When you visit a website, it stores some information on your system through a web browser for later use i.e. Login information, so you do not have to re-login to your website every time you visit the same website on the same browser. Cookies are usually stored as plain text or in the database by the browser and if a computer is accessed by multiple people, one person might scan another’s cookie folder and look for things like passwords or long-life session IDs. If an attacker has the physical access to your system, can steal all your cookies easily to hijack accounts. There are many tools available on the Internet that can make it quicker and easier for an attacker to export all your cookies from the browser. The Google Chrome web browser also saves cookies to a SQLite database file in the user's data folder. One can import that file to SQL Editor software to read all cookies in plain text format. Google's open source project Chromium browser now have a new feat...

New ClickLock macOS Stealer Kills Apps Every 210ms Until Victims Type Their Password

New ClickLock macOS Stealer Kills Apps Every 210ms Until Victims Type Their Password

Jul 16, 2026 Malware / Cryptocurrency
ClickLock Stealer , a new macOS infostealer, answers a victim's refusal by killing their apps on a loop until they hand over the login password. It arrives as a command pasted into Terminal, asks for the password behind a fake system dialog, and when the victim cancels, installs two LaunchAgents and quietly exits. At the next login, Finder, the Dock, Spotlight, Terminal, Activity Monitor, and the major browsers start dying every 210 milliseconds, for up to 83 hours, leaving one password box on a dead desktop. Type it, and the machine gives up the Keychain, the browser credentials, and the crypto wallets. Group-IB's telemetry counts at least 100 targets across 33 countries since May, over half of them in Europe. Its analysts assume from the code structure that the malware is still under development. Uploaded to VirusTotal on June 9, the orchestrator script had  zero detections  there when Group-IB analyzed it. And the analysts never found the front door. They have the ...

⚡ Weekly Recap: APT Intrusions, AI Malware, Zero-Click Exploits, Browser Hijacks and More

Jun 02, 2025 Cybersecurity / Hacking News
If this had been a security drill, someone would’ve said it went too far. But it wasn’t a drill—it was real. The access? Everything looked normal. The tools? Easy to find. The detection? Came too late. This is how attacks happen now—quiet, convincing, and fast. Defenders aren’t just chasing hackers anymore—they’re struggling to trust what their systems are telling them. The problem isn’t too few alerts. It’s too many, with no clear meaning. One thing is clear: if your defense still waits for obvious signs, you’re not protecting anything. You’re just watching it happen. This recap highlights the moments that mattered—and why they’re worth your attention. ⚡ Threat of the Week APT41 Exploits Google Calendar for Command-and-Control — The Chinese state-sponsored threat actor known as APT41 deployed a malware called TOUGHPROGRESS that uses Google Calendar for command-and-control (C2). Google said it observed the spear-phishing attacks in October 2024 and that the malware was hosted on...
