Neiman Marcus revealed that its customers are at risk after hackers breached servers of the company and accessed the payment information of those who visited its stores. Albertson's and SuperValu - Two nation's most popular supermarket store chains announced last weekend that a data breach may have revealed the credit and debit card information of their customers at a number of grocery store locations in more than 18 states. Minnesota-based Supervalu announced that an unknown number of its customers who used their payment cards in around 180 stores between June 22 and July 17 may have had payment card data compromised by attackers who gained access to the Supervalu computer network that processes card transactions. The affected information may includes names, payment card numbers, expiration dates, and other numerical information from cards used at POS devices. India's flag carrier airline, Air India, has  disclosed  a data breach affecting 4.5 million of its customers over a period stretching nearly 10 years after its Passenger Service System (PSS) provider SITA fell victim to a cyber attack earlier this year. The breach involves personal data registered between Aug. 26, 2011 and Feb. 3, 2021, including details such as names, dates of birth, contact information, passport information, ticket information, Star Alliance, and Air India frequent flyer data as well as credit card data. But Air India said neither CVV/CVC numbers associated with the credit cards nor passwords were affected. Cybersecurity researchers have discovered over 80 Magecart compromised e-commerce websites that were actively sending credit card information of online shoppers to the attackers-controlled servers. Equifax has suffered one of the largest data breaches in history that has left highly sensitive data of as many as 143 million people —that's nearly half of the US population—in the hands of hackers. Based on the company's investigation, some unknown hackers managed to exploit a security flaw on the Equifax website and gained unauthorized access to certain files between mid-May and July 2017. The information accessed primarily include full names, birth dates, Social Security numbers, addresses and, in some cases, driver's license numbers—most of the information that's banks, insurance companies, and other businesses use to confirm a consumer identity. Specialty retailer Genesco Inc. announced on Friday that it experienced a criminal intrusion into the part of its computer network that processes payment card transactions. Some card details might have been compromised. However, the company quickly secured the affected network segment and expressed confidence that customers can now safely use their credit and debit cards in its stores. Nashville, Tennessee-based Genesco stated that the intrusion affected its U.S. Journeys, Journeys Kidz, Shi by Journeys, Johnston & Murphy stores, and some Underground Station stores. Citigroup hacked again - 92,000 customers info exposed from Japan For the second time this year, Citigroup has suffered a major breach of its credit customers' personal information; this time the breach involved 92,400 customers at its Japanese unit. Citigroup's Japanese credit card unit said personal information for more than 92,000 of its customers was illegally sold to a third party. JPMorgan Chase , one of the world's biggest Banks has recently announced that it was the victim of a cyber attack and warned round 465,000 of its holders of prepaid cash cards on the possible exposure of their personal information. In the Security Breach that took place on the bank's website www.ucard.chase.com  in July, around 465,000 accounts are compromised i.e. 2% of the overall 25 million UCard users. Popular Indian mobile payments service MobiKwik on Monday came under fire after 8.2 terabytes (TB) of data belonging to millions of its users began circulating on the dark web in the aftermath of a major data breach that came to light earlier this month. The leaked data includes sensitive personal information such as: customer names, hashed passwords, email addresses, residential addresses, GPS locations, list of installed apps, partially-masked credit card numbers, connected bank accounts and associated account numbers, and know your customer (KYC) documents of 3.5 million users.
