Interpol Arrests 3 Indonesian Credit Card Hackers for Magecart Attacks

The Indonesian National Police in a joint press conference with Interpol and cybersecurity firm Group-IB earlier today announced the arrest of three Magecart-style Indonesian hackers who had compromised hundreds of international e-commerce websites and stolen payment card details of their online shoppers. Dubbed ' Operation Night Fury ,' the investigation was led by Interpol's ASEAN Cyber Capability Desk, a joint initiative by law enforcement agencies of Southeast Asian countries to combat cybercrime. According to the press conference, all three accused (23, 26, and 35 years old) were arrested last year in December from Jakarta and Yogyakarta and charged with criminal laws related to the data theft, fraud, and unauthorized access. Last week we noticed a rise in cyber attacks particularly - website Defacement attacks on many governments and organizations of different countries by the hackers around the world. Targeted countries include Singapore, Mexico, Philippines, Australia, Egypt, United States, Syria and many more. Out of all these targets, most controversial were Philippines and Australia, hacked by Activist group Anonymous. Last Sunday, Anonymous hackers from Indonesia defaced hundreds of websites belonging to the Australian Government , saying the action was in response to reports of spying by Australia. The websites, defaced with a message reading " Stop Spying on Indonesia ". Hackers deface website of president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) apparently in protest at growing corruption and wealth inequality in the country and because of increasing anger at the current administration. Deface page mention hacker code name as " MJL007 " who performed the hack and government is working with law enforcement teams to examine log files in a bid to trace the origin of the attack. Hackers leak lots of data from the site on a Pastebin Note  titled as " PedoCop & Police Emails ". This data include officers names, addresses, and phone numbers of hundreds of officers and their membership rosters which were taken upon login. Hacker also upload two Archives which have the complete Google Emails data of two officers. Hackers also Mention that " we will not be including the photos from the email in this release but we will be making contact with the appropriate organizations protecting children from exploitation online ."

Cross Site scripting attack is a critical issue in web application. When an attacker gets a user's browser to execute his/her XSS code, the code will run within the security context (or zone) of the hosting web site. With this level of privilege, the code has the ability to read (keylogging), modify and transmit any sensitive data accessible by the browser. A Cross-site Scripted user could have his/her account hijacked (cookie theft), their browser redirected to another location, or possibly shown fraudulent content delivered by the web site they are visiting. Anonymous Hackers hit 50 Malaysian government websites Malaysia has been hit by a wave of attacks after the " Anonymous " hacker group accused the government of Internet censorship. More than 50 government websites were hit and 41 of them were closed The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) said in a statement the attacks on websites with the .gov.my domain started shortly before midnight Wednesday and lasted several hours. Little damage was caused and these were denial of service attacks. Apparently most of the websites have already recovered.
