It appeared briefly this week that all DeKalb County's properties were owned by a hacker.
The county's property appraisal website was hacked and listed every property owner as "Hacked by Red xD," CEO's spokesman Burke Brennan confirmed for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Brennan insisted none of the data, including property values, sales and tax information, was compromised.
"No core data was accessed," he said.
The county's information technology staff has repaired the site and is now investigating. County officials said they think the suspect is a professional hacker and not an angry taxpayer.
Online records show the same hacker also attacked portions of the University of Pennsylvania's website.
