Be careful what you click on when you’re using Twitter, because there is a “ Tweet Viewer ” worm afoot. Under the guise of revealing who’s been visiting your Twitter profile, when you click on its link it asks for your Twitter authorization, and then tweets that same message to more unsuspecting users. Keep in mind that merely clicking on the link is not going to automatically authorize anything — that only happens if you click the Authorize button after clicking the link. So, like many viruses, worms and scams, you have to actively give it to yourself, rather than having it attack you as you stand by innocently. TV prankster Ashton Kutcher has been Punk’d – jokers hacked into his beloved Twitter account on Wednesday. The actor famously fooled celebrities including Beyoncé, Kanye West, and Pete Wentz on his MTV hidden camera show in which he played outrageous practical jokes on his unsuspecting victims. However, computer hackers have now turned the tables on Kutcher – they broke into his Twitter blog on Wednesday and wrote, “Ashton, you’ve been Punk’d. This account is not secure... P.S. This is for those young protesters around the world who deserve not to have their Facebook & Twitter accounts hacked like this.” Kutcher’s page is one of the most popular on the microblogging website, attracting 6.3 million followers.

Catania - The Postal & Communications Police Department of Catania, coordinated by the city's DA office, has a suspect. The person investigated is a 22-year old Moroccan national residing in Lucca, who is considered to be responsible for the hacking attack that made inaccessible for a few hours the Websites of the Catania airport, of Confindustria's Catania offices and of several more important companies. The suspect is thought to be responsible for having illegally accessed the information system, damaging the data. After perpetrating a "defacement" type of attack, the hacker had boasted about his criminal act on a fundamentalist Islamic Website. Trojans were the most prolific malware threat in February-March, and collaboration seems to be the name of the game in malware development and distribution. Trojan-based attacks continue to be the biggest malware threat in February, but PDF exploits aren’t far behind, according to several security reports. About 1 in 290 e-mails in February were malicious, making the month one of the most prolific periods for the threats, according to Symantec’s February 2011 MessageLabs Intelligence Report. The global ratio of spam in e-mail traffic was 81.3 percent, an increase of 2.7 percent since January, the report found. The recent decline in spam appears to have reversed for the time being, according to the report. According to a new report, 40 South Korean websites came under a cyber crime attack by a computer virus, including the presidential Blue House, South Korea’s biggest bank , a major online auction house, the Foreign Ministry, the two largest search engines in the country and Korean military website. Although it was not immediately clear who has been behind the attack, the National Police Agency began investigating the assault that has been discovered by AhnLab, a leading Internet security firm based in Seoul. Most computer analysts declared that the episode was a distributed denial of service cyber crime attack. Usually, in such cases, the infected computers also known as zombies try to access targeted websites at the same time in an attempt to overwhelm the sites with a surge of traffic that crashes their servers. These apps are expected to play a major role play in future browsers, and in such a future, the browser will not just be for viewing web pages but will be a platform for locally installed applications. Web Application programmers need do little more than create a manifest; this is a specification which lists the structure and content of the application, and is enough to deploy the app. Applications are able to share resources and will make use of the HTML5 specification for offline caching of these resources by means of the application cache.
