Onion.City — Search Engine for Deep Web that Works From Normal Web Browser

Feb 21, 2015
There is an entire section of the Internet that you probably don't see on daily basis, it's called the " Darknet " or " Deep Web ", where all browsing is done anonymously. About a week ago, we reported about the 'Memex' Deep Web Search Engine , a Defense Advance Research Projects Agency (DARPA) project to create a powerful new search engine that could find things on the deep web that isn't indexed by Google and other commercial search engines, but it isn't available to you and me. Now, there is another search engine that will let anyone easily search the Deep Web for large swaths of information for free, and without an application; you only need is an Internet connection. Onion.City , a new search engine for online underground markets that makes it more easier to find and buy drugs, guns, stolen credit cards directly from your Chrome, Internet Explorer or Firefox browser without installing and browsing via Tor Browser . Just two...
Google Chrome Silently Listening to Your Private Conversations

Google Chrome Silently Listening to Your Private Conversations

Jun 25, 2015
Google was under fire of downloading and installing a Chrome extension surreptitiously and subsequently listened to the conversations of Chromium users without consent. After these accusations, a wave of criticism by privacy campaigners and open source developers has led Google to remove the extension from Chromium , the open-source version of the Chrome browser. The extension in question is " Chrome Hotword ," which was found to be responsible for offering the browser's famous " OK, Google " functionality. ' Ok, Google ' is certainly a useful feature that allows users to search for things via their voice when they use Google as their default search engine, but its something that also enables eavesdropping of every single conversation made by a user. Google Silently Listens to your Conversation This issue came to light by Pirate Party founder Rick Falkvinge , who says Google has silently installed black box code into the open-so...
Google To Speed Up The Internet With Its New QUIC Protocol

Google To Speed Up The Internet With Its New QUIC Protocol

Apr 19, 2015
Google is trying every effort to make the World Wide Web faster for Internet users. The company has announced plans to propose its homemade networking protocol, called Quick UDP Internet Connections (QUIC) , to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) in order to make it the next-generation Internet standard. Probably the term QUIC is new for you, but if you use Google's Chrome browser then there are chances that you have used this network protocol already. What is QUIC? QUIC is a low-latency transport protocol for the modern Internet over UDP, an Internet protocol that is often used for streaming media, gaming and VoIP services. The search engine giant first unveiled the experimental protocol QUIC and added it to Chrome Canary update in June 2013. The protocol already included a variety of new features, but the key feature is that QUIC runs a stream multiplexing protocol on top of UDP instead of TCP. The Idea behind QUIC: QUIC was developed to s...

New Kickass Torrents Site: List of New 2024 Proxies and Alternatives

Jan 01, 2019
Kickass Torrents (KAT cr) was once a hugely popular online portal, renowned for its vast archive of movies, music, TV shows, and other media. It was a treasure trove for those seeking rare content and for users looking to share their creations. However, Kickass Torrents faced significant opposition. The movie and music industries saw the site as a threat to their revenue, accusing it of promoting copyright infringement. Despite this, the Kickass Torrents team continued to advocate for its users, claiming they were providing a valuable service. The Downfall and Resurgence of Kickass Torrents Eventually, legal action caught up with Kickass Torrents. In July 2017, U.S. authorities shut down the site after its owner, Artem Vaulin, was charged with allowing the distribution of copyrighted material. Following the shutdown, a group of loyal contributors founded the Katcr.co forum, aiming to restore the popular torrent site to its former glory. Many wondered if this was the end for Kicka...

Chrome Plans to Mark All 'HTTP' Traffic as Insecure from 2015

Dec 16, 2014
Google is ready to give New Year gift to the Internet users, who are concerned about their privacy and security. The Chromium Project's security team has marked all HTTP web pages as insecure and is planning to explicitly and actively inform users that HTTP connections provide no data security protections. There are also projects like Let's Encrypt , launched by the non-profit foundation EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation) in collaboration with big and reputed companies including Mozilla, Cisco, and Akamai to offer free HTTPS/SSL certificates for those running servers on the Internet at the beginning of 2015. This is not the first time when Google is taking initiative to encourage website owners to switch to HTTPS by default. Few months ago, the web Internet giant also made changes in its search engine algorithm in an effort to give a slight ranking boost to the websites that use encrypted HTTPS connections. "We, the Chrome Security Team, propose that ...

Well, this was a very unexpected move by Google. Google Co-Founder Larry Page announced a restructuring of the whole company, revealing the creation of the umbrella " Alphabet " corporation. But, don't worry… Google isn't dead! Rather, Google will become part of Alphabet. Why Google Rebrands As 'Alphabet' Over time, Google, the Mountain View company has become a lot more than just a Search Engine. Google created and acquired a large number of other popular Internet services, including Android, YouTube and Gmail, that makes too much difficult for a single company to manage all of them effectively. According to Google Founders, it's time, when different projects require different leaders, different company cultures, and different types of resources. " Our model is to have a strong CEO, who runs each business, with Sergey and me in service to them as needed ," Page wrote . So the founders decided to create an all new parental brand that ...

Microsoft Revokes 200 Fraudulent Certificates Used in Rhysida Ransomware Campaign

Oct 17, 2025 Malware / Cybercrime
Microsoft on Thursday disclosed that it revoked more than 200 certificates used by a threat actor it tracks as Vanilla Tempest to fraudulently sign malicious binaries in ransomware attacks. The certificates were "used in fake Teams setup files to deliver the Oyster backdoor and ultimately deploy Rhysida ransomware," the Microsoft Threat Intelligence team said in a post shared on X. The tech giant said it disrupted the activity earlier this month after it was detected in late September 2025. In addition to revoking the certificates, its security solutions have been updated to flag the signatures associated with the fake setup files, Oyster backdoor, and Rhysida ransomware. Vanilla Tempest (formerly Storm-0832) is the name given to a financially motivated threat actor also called Vice Society and Vice Spider that's assessed to be active since at least July 2022, delivering various ransomware strains such as BlackCat, Quantum Locker, Zeppelin, and Rhysida over the year...

How to Disable Mixed Content Security Warning in Google Chrome

Apr 20, 2015
If you are really upset with Chrome browsers warnings that your HTTPS enabled website contains unsecured third-party contents that sometimes force your users to close the tab, Google has solved this problem for you. With the release of the next version of Google's popular browser, Chrome 43 , it may be easier for developers and system administrators to ensure HTTPS websites are not compromised by insecure HTTP resources. Until now, the current browsers of Google flag a ' mixed-content warning ' in the form of a yellow triangle over the padlock if any HTTPS page loads any resource from an unencrypted HTTP URL. What's mixed content? And… ...Why should I worry about Mixed content if I am using HTTPS on my web pages? If, say, your website has HTTPS enabled but your website's pages are loading contents, such as images, retrieved through regular, clear text HTTP URLs, then it is believed that the connection is only partially encrypted. Partial...

Google Reveals What Personal Data Chrome and Its Apps Collect On You

Mar 18, 2021
Privacy-focused search engine DuckDuckGo called out rival Google for "spying" on users after the search giant updated its flagship app to spell out the exact kinds of information it collects for personalization and marketing purposes. "After months of stalling, Google finally revealed how much personal data they collect in Chrome and the Google app. No wonder they wanted to hide it," the company  said  in a tweet. "Spying on users has nothing to do with building a great web browser or search engine." The " privacy nutrition labels " are part of a new policy that  went into effect  on December 8, 2020, mandating app developers to disclose their data collection practices and help users understand how their personal information is put to use. The insinuation from DuckDuckGo comes as Google has been steadily adding app privacy labels to its iOS apps over the course of the last several weeks in accordance with Apple's App Store rules, but not ...

HiddenGh0st, Winos and kkRAT Exploit SEO, GitHub Pages in Chinese Malware Attacks

Sep 15, 2025 Malware / Cryptocurrency
Chinese-speaking users are the target of a search engine optimization (SEO) poisoning campaign that uses fake software sites to distribute malware. "The attackers manipulated search rankings with SEO plugins and registered lookalike domains that closely mimicked legitimate software sites," Fortinet FortiGuard Labs researcher Pei Han Liao said . "By using convincing language and small character substitutions, they tricked victims into visiting spoofed pages and downloading malware." The activity, which was discovered by the cybersecurity company in August 2025, leads to the deployment of malware families like HiddenGh0st and Winos (aka ValleyRAT), both of which are variants of a remote access trojan called Gh0st RAT. It's worth noting that the use of Winos has been attributed to a cybercrime group known as Silver Fox , which is also tracked as SwimSnake, The Great Thief of Valley (or Valley Thief), UTG-Q-1000, and Void Arachne. It's believed to be acti...
