Statement from Anonymous on Operation Tequila
Anonymous is a group of independent individuals without a leader. We would like to present to the Mexican people and the world, our collective decisions and thoughts through the following statement.
Anonymous are ordinary people who fight for free-speech both on and off the internet. We have been treated as if we were puppets, without the right to protest or demand anything. We are fed up and we rebel against a system that considers us asleep and submissive, that believes that his actions would go unpunished and that truths would be hidden forever. This system is the same that punished without any hesitation the ones who tried to bring the truth to light.
For this reason alone, the unconditional defense of free-speech, we understand that the traditional media, in collusion with the government responsible for neglecting the social reality of the country and the people trying to silence the voices of citizens with messages all media, and comparing desprestigiandos citizens with real criminals, but we are they who have led the country to ruin. We understand that the national policy of repression towards citizens violates the rights of people to express themselves freely and without censorship.
We reject and show our disgust for the murder of thousands of journalists, to the Federal Government's complete passivity, as well the mismanagement in the fight against drug traffic that has been translated to about 30.000 inocent civilians killed, having show ineffective results on this fight.
We make a call to President Felipe Calderon Hinojosa to take action on the matter and allow the democratization of media, with a greater openness to alternative media and critics, in which every citizen can participate without fear of being censured for expressing their ideas; strengthening initiatives that allow citizens access to the Internet, as it is widespread that this is the vehicle for free communication which is the only way to strengthen a country, and finally, the repositioning of right to plebiscite.
Anonymous is concerned with the abuse of power by the Federal Government of the Mexican Republic revealed to the world with the current situation of a lawless country, torn by a social crisis with no response and lack of respect for its citizens, not Anonymous idly falls against injustice. We believe that someone must do the right thing, that someone must bring light to darkness, that someone must open the eyes of a sleeping public, to avoid further abuse of power that goes beyond our human rights.
We reiterate that our statements do not have a political nature and we will continue our demonstrations until our demands become realized.
In conclusion, we call upon all citizens of Mexico and of the world with social consciousness or not, to join us in OpTequila however you can. Each in their own field, each with their own decided level of commitment, so that together we can unite and overcome the oppressors and live in a world where freedom of speech has no exception.

Manifiesto de Anonymous para la Operacion Tequila
Somos un colectivo de individuos independientes, sin líder ni preferencia política, queremos dar a conocer al pueblo Méxicano y al mundo nuestra decisión y reflexión a través de la siguiente declaración.
Anonymous lo formamos un amplio grupo de personas que vemos coartada la libertad de expresión, por sistemas que nos tratan como si fuéramos simples marionetas, sin derecho a protestar ni reclamar nada. Pero se equivocan. Hemos dicho basta, nos hemos rebelado contra un sistema que nos creía dormidos y sumisos, que pensaba que sus actos serían impunes y la verdad disfrazada para siempre. Este sistema es el mismo que castiga a quienes intentan decir la verdad. Y al que se le ocurriese revelarla o sacarla a la luz, le castigan sin reparos.
Por este único motivo, la defensa incondicional de la libertad de expresión dentro y fuera de Internet, entendemos que los medios de comunicacion tradicionales, coludidos con el gobierno se encargan de menospreciar la realidad social del país y a la población tratando de hacer callar las voces de los ciudadanos con mensajes en todos los medios, desprestigiando y comparando a los ciudadanos con verdaderos delincuentes, pero no somos ellos los que han llevado el país a la ruina. Entendemos que la política de represión nacional hacia los ciudadanos atenta contra los derechos individuales de las personas para expresarse libremente y sin censura.
Rechazamos y mostramos nuestro repudio total al asesinato de cientos de periodistas, ante la pasividad absoluta del Gobierno Federal, así como a la mala gestión en la lucha contra el narcotráfico que se ha traducido en mas de 30.000 ciudadanos civiles inocentes, demostrando resultados ineficaces en esta lucha.
Pedimos al Presidente Felipe Calderón Hinojosa que tome cartas en el asunto y permita la democratización de los medios de comunicación, con una mayor apertura hacia medios alternativos y críticos, en los que todo ciudadano pueda participar sin el temor de ser censurado por expresar sus ideas; el fortalecimiento de iniciativas que permitan el acceso de los ciudadanos a la Red, ya que está más que demostrado que éste es el vehículo de comunicación más libre que existe al momento siendo la única vía para fortalecer un país, y por último, el reposicionamiento del derecho al plebiscito.
Y conscientes del abuso de poder por parte del Gobierno Federal de la República Méxicana puesto de manifiesto ante el mundo con la situación actual de un país ingobernable, lacerado por una crisis social sin respuesta alguna y la falta de respeto para con sus ciudadanos, Anonymous no se queda de brazos cruzados frente a la injusticia. Creemos que alguien debe hacer lo correcto, que alguien debe traer luz a la oscuridad, que alguien debe abrir los ojos de un público durmiente, evitar que prosiga el abuso de poder que pasa por encima de nuestros derechos humanos.
Reiteramos que nuestras manifestaciones no tienen un carácter político y las continuaremos hasta que se haga algo al respecto.
Para terminar, queremos hacer un llamamiento a todos los ciudadanos de México y del mundo que tenga conciencia social y los que no, para que se impliquen y continúen manifestándose. Cada cual en su propio ámbito, cada uno con su nivel de compromiso, con libre derecho a la información y la cultura. Para que entre todos podamos destruir la censura y vivir con plena libertad para pensar y expresarnos.
