HACK - A New Open Source Programming Language developed by Facebook

Mar 23, 2014
Facebook just released a new programming language called ' HACK ', designed to build complex websites and other software quickly and without many flaws. The company has already migrated almost all of its PHP-based social networking site to HACK over the last year, but it has nothing to do with Hacking. When Social Networking website Facebook was started 10 years ago, it was coded in PHP by Mark Zuckerberg and team, but as the company grew, PHP Programming platform became difficult to manage and bug-free. Thus, Hack was born!  Facebook Team decides to develop a new programming language that could combine elements of static- type programming languages such as C or C++ with dynamic-type languages like PHP, now called " HACK Programming Language ". " Hack has deep roots in PHP. In fact, most PHP files are already valid Hack files. " Facebook said, " We have also added many new features that we believe will help make developers more productiv...

Anonymous Hacker Group Helps Take Down Insupportable Websites !

Mar 10, 2011
Hacker group Anonymous takes down websites across the world for the greater good: peace, freedom of information and solidarity. Anonymous, which began as a movement in 2003 on a series of internet chat boards, has gone from targeting small time hypocrites to large multinational corporations bringing it from the background of hacker culture to the forefront of global politics. Anonymous is considered a “hackivist” movement that became globally recognized in 2010 after shutting down Mastercard, Visa, and Paypal during what they called Operation Payback. These major corporations stopped providing their services to Wikileaks, which had been using them to accept donations into the Wikileaks defense fund. This action on the part of Visa, Mastercard and PayPal offended the Anonymous community as an affront to freedom and justice. Anonymous stated on Al Jazeera that they could have taken down the infrastructure of all three websites but didn’t because they wanted people to still be able to u...

Yahoo India R&D to Host ‘HACK U’ for IIT Kharagpur Students !

Mar 16, 2011
Yahoo! India R&D will be hosting ‘HACK U’– the University Hack Day event for IIT Kharagpur students on campus between 17 and 20 March. Close to 250 students are expected to participate in this four day event of learning, hacking and fun, which is part of Yahoo!’s on-going commitment to nurture talent and innovation among today's student bodies. Conceptualized along the lines of Open Hack Day, Hack U provides a platform for the student community to develop and build applications using Yahoo!'s Open APIs (Application Programming Interface) like YQL and YAP, or even to create a new product concept itself. This novel concept provides students with the opportunity to work on product ideas, develop working prototypes in a 24 hour ‘Hackathon’ and eventually stand the chance to win cool prizes. The event will kick off with a series of hack-related presentations and tech talks by Yahoo! engineers followed by a non-stop 24-hour hacking session by the students. Praveen Ramachandr...

16-Year-Old Teen Hacked Apple Servers, Stole 90GB of Secure Files

16-Year-Old Teen Hacked Apple Servers, Stole 90GB of Secure Files

Aug 17, 2018
Well, there's something quite embarrassing for Apple fans. Though Apple servers are widely believed to be unhackable, a 16-year-old high school student proved that nothing is impossible. The teenager from Melbourne, Australia, managed to break into Apple servers and downloaded some 90GB of secure files, including extremely secure authorized keys used to grant login access to users, as well as access multiple user accounts. The teen told the authorities that he hacked Apple because he was a huge fan of the company and "dreamed of" working for the technology giant. What's more embarrassing? The teen, whose name is being withheld as he's still a minor, hacked the company's servers not once, but numerous times over the course of more than a year, and Apple's system administrators failed to stop their users' data from being stolen. When Apple finally noticed the intrusion, the company contacted the FBI, which took the help of the Australian Fede...

Snapchat Hack — Hacker Leaked Snapchat Source Code On GitHub

Aug 08, 2018
The source code of the popular social media app Snapchat was recently surfaced online after a hacker leaked and posted it on the Microsoft-owned code repository GitHub. A GitHub account under the name Khaled Alshehri with the handle i5xx , who claimed to be from Pakistan, created a GitHub repository called Source-Snapchat with a description " Source Code for SnapChat ," publishing the code of what purported to be Snapchat's iOS app. The underlying code could potentially expose the company's extremely confidential information, like the entire design of the hugely-successful messaging app, how the app works and what future features are planned for the app. Snapchat's parent company, Snap Inc., responded to the leak by filing a copyright act request under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), helping it takedown the online repository hosting the Snapchat code. HTC HD Mini Gets Hacked, Now Runs Android !

HTC HD Mini Gets Hacked, Now Runs Android !

Feb 19, 2011
The HTC HD Mini, also previously known as Photon, is pretty old as far as smartphones go--the Windows Mobile 6.5 phone was first released back in February 2010. So a XDA Developer member has given the cellphone a new lease of life by bringing Android and Linux OS to it. Forum member "Cotulla" managed to get the HD Mini running Android via the Haret Launcher, a file used commonly to boot Android on Windows Mobile phones. The ROM for the hack was created from similar HTC handset HTC Aria, which can be booted from a SD card. Add the files (Cotulla made a developer file and a user file, so pick your camp), launch Haret, and Android for HD Mini is yours! Sadly, the Linux OS is far from complete. Although the hack is up and running, it's not without it's problems. The battery driver doesn't work, and neither does the GSensor or WLAN. Some of the touchscreen buttons are also not perfectly aligned, so need a bit of work. Unfortunately, Cotulla is no longer working on...

Warning: Enigma Hacked; Over $470,000 in Ethereum Stolen So Far

Aug 21, 2017
More Ethereum Stolen! An unknown hacker has so far stolen more than $471,000 worth of Ethereum—one of the most popular and increasingly valuable cryptocurrencies—in yet another Ethereum hack that hit the popular cryptocurrency investment platform, Enigma . According to an announcement made on their official website an hour ago, an "unknown entity" has managed to hack their website, slack account and email newsletter accounts, and uploaded a fake pre-sale page with a fake ETH address to send money. The hackers also spammed their fake address in Enigma's newsletter and slack accounts for pre-sale coins, tricking victims to send their cryptocurrencies to hacker's address. Etherscan, a popular search engine for the Ethereum Blockchain that allows users to look up, confirm and validate transactions easily, has already flagged the address as compromised, but people are still sending ETH to the fake address (given below). 0x29d7d1dd5b6f9c864d9db560d72a247c178ae86...
