How Generative AI Can Dupe SaaS Authentication Protocols — And Effective Ways To Prevent Other Key AI Risks in SaaS

How Generative AI Can Dupe SaaS Authentication Protocols — And Effective Ways To Prevent Other Key AI Risks in SaaS

Jun 26, 2023 SaaS Security / Artificial Intelligence
Security and IT teams are routinely forced to adopt software before fully understanding the security risks. And AI tools are no exception. Employees and business leaders alike are flocking to generative AI software and similar programs, often unaware of the major SaaS security vulnerabilities they're introducing into the enterprise. A February 2023  generative AI survey of 1,000 executives  revealed that 49% of respondents use ChatGPT now, and 30% plan to tap into the ubiquitous generative AI tool soon. Ninety-nine percent of those using ChatGPT claimed some form of cost-savings, and 25% attested to reducing expenses by $75,000 or more. As the researchers conducted this survey a mere three months after ChatGPT's general availability, today's ChatGPT and AI tool usage is undoubtedly higher.  Security and risk teams are already overwhelmed protecting their SaaS estate (which has now become the operating system of business) from common vulnerabilities such as misconfigura...
SOC 3.0 - The Evolution of the SOC and How AI is Empowering Human Talent

SOC 3.0 - The Evolution of the SOC and How AI is Empowering Human Talent

Feb 26, 2025 Machine Learning / Threat Detection
Organizations today face relentless cyber attacks, with high-profile breaches hitting the headlines almost daily. Reflecting on a long journey in the security field, it's clear this isn't just a human problem—it's a math problem. There are simply too many threats and security tasks for any SOC to manually handle in a reasonable timeframe. Yet, there is a solution. Many refer to it as SOC 3.0—an AI-augmented environment that finally lets analysts do more with less and shifts security operations from a reactive posture to a proactive force. The transformative power of SOC 3.0 will be detailed later in this article, showcasing how artificial intelligence can dramatically reduce workload and risk, delivering world-class security operations that every CISO dreams of. However, to appreciate this leap forward, it's important to understand how the SOC evolved over time and why the steps leading up to 3.0 set the stage for a new era of security operations. A brief history of the SOC For deca...
Secure Vibe Coding: The Complete New Guide

Secure Vibe Coding: The Complete New Guide

Jun 19, 2025 Application Security / LLM Security
DALL-E for coders? That's the promise behind vibe coding, a term describing the use of natural language to create software. While this ushers in a new era of AI-generated code, it introduces "silent killer" vulnerabilities: exploitable flaws that evade traditional security tools despite perfect test performance. A detailed analysis of secure vibe coding practices is available here . TL;DR: Secure Vibe Coding Vibe coding, using natural language to generate software with AI, is revolutionizing development in 2025. But while it accelerates prototyping and democratizes coding, it also introduces "silent killer" vulnerabilities: exploitable flaws that pass tests but evade traditional security tools. This article explores: Real-world examples of AI-generated code in production Shocking stats: 40% higher secret exposure in AI-assisted repos Why LLMs omit security unless explicitly prompted Secure prompting techniques and tool comparisons (GPT-4, Claude, Cursor, etc.) Reg...

⚡ Weekly Recap: Drift Breach Chaos, Zero-Days Active, Patch Warnings, Smarter Threats & More

Sep 08, 2025 Cybersecurity / Hacking News
Cybersecurity never slows down. Every week brings new threats, new vulnerabilities, and new lessons for defenders. For security and IT teams, the challenge is not just keeping up with the news—it's knowing which risks matter most right now. That's what this digest is here for: a clear, simple briefing to help you focus where it counts. This week, one story stands out above the rest: the Salesloft–Drift breach, where attackers stole OAuth tokens and accessed Salesforce data from some of the biggest names in tech. It's a sharp reminder of how fragile integrations can become the weak link in enterprise defenses. Alongside this, we'll also walk through several high-risk CVEs under active exploitation, the latest moves by advanced threat actors, and fresh insights on making security workflows smarter, not noisier. Each section is designed to give you the essentials—enough to stay informed and prepared, without getting lost in the noise. ⚡ Threat of the Week Salesloft to Take Drift Of...

⚡ Weekly Recap: Fortinet Exploited, China's AI Hacks, PhaaS Empire Falls & More

Nov 17, 2025 Cybersecurity / Hacking News
This week showed just how fast things can go wrong when no one's watching. Some attacks were silent and sneaky. Others used tools we trust every day — like AI, VPNs, or app stores — to cause damage without setting off alarms. It's not just about hacking anymore. Criminals are building systems to make money, spy, or spread malware like it's a business. And in some cases, they're using the same apps and services that businesses rely on — flipping the script without anyone noticing at first. The scary part? Some threats weren't even bugs — just clever use of features we all take for granted. And by the time people figured it out, the damage was done. Let's look at what really happened, why it matters, and what we should all be thinking about now. ⚡ Threat of the Week Silently Patched Fortinet Flaw Comes Under Attack — A vulnerability that was patched by Fortinet in FortiWeb Web Application Firewall (WAF) has been exploited in the wild since early October 2025 by threat actors to c...
Beyond IAM Silos: Why the Identity Security Fabric is Essential for Securing AI and Non-Human Identities

Beyond IAM Silos: Why the Identity Security Fabric is Essential for Securing AI and Non-Human Identities

Nov 18, 2025 Enterprise Security / Zero Trust
Identity security fabric (ISF) is a unified architectural framework that brings together disparate identity capabilities. Through ISF, identity governance and administration (IGA), access management (AM), privileged access management (PAM), and identity threat detection and response (ITDR) are all integrated into a single, cohesive control plane. Building on Gartner's definition of " identity fabric ," identity security fabric takes a more proactive approach, securing all identity types (human, machine, and AI agents) across on-prem, hybrid, multi-cloud, and complex IT environments. Why identity security fabric matters now As cyberattacks become more prevalent and sophisticated, traditional approaches characterized by siloed identity tools can't keep pace with evolving threats. Today's rapidly expanding attack surface is driven primarily by non-human identities (NHIs), including service accounts, API keys, and AI agents. Fragmented point solutions weaken an organization's overall ...
AI Agents and the Non‑Human Identity Crisis: How to Deploy AI More Securely at Scale

AI Agents and the Non‑Human Identity Crisis: How to Deploy AI More Securely at Scale

May 27, 2025 Artificial Intelligence / Cloud Identity
Artificial intelligence is driving a massive shift in enterprise productivity, from GitHub Copilot's code completions to chatbots that mine internal knowledge bases for instant answers. Each new agent must authenticate to other services, quietly swelling the population of non‑human identities (NHIs) across corporate clouds. That population is already overwhelming the enterprise: many companies now juggle at least 45 machine identities for every human user . Service accounts, CI/CD bots, containers, and AI agents all need secrets, most commonly in the form of API keys, tokens, or certificates, to connect securely to other systems to do their work. GitGuardian's State of Secrets Sprawl 2025 report reveals the cost of this sprawl: over 23.7 million secrets surfaced on public GitHub in 2024 alone. And instead of making the situation better, repositories with Copilot enabled the leak of secrets 40 percent more often .  NHIs Are Not People Unlike human beings logging into systems, ...
