'Anonymous Philippines' hacks Hundreds of Chinese Government Websites

A Philippine Hacker group claiming ties with the hacktivist collective Anonymous defaced early Monday several Chinese Government websites. " Anonymous Philippines " claimed responsibility for defacing more than 200 Chinese websites in retaliation for Beijing's aggressive actions in the West Philippine Sea, according to the messages posted on their Facebook page . " The operation was a success, we might not have brought China to it's knees but we gave hope to our brothers and sisters, because hope is what we need right now. Hope that someday people will stand-up and fight back! " Anonymous Philippines said. At the time of writing, More than 145 Chinese Government ( list 1 ) and 45 Commercial websites ( list 2 ) were displaying the following defacement message: " China's alleged claim on maritime territories and oppressive poaching can no longer be tolerated. Stand against Oppression! It's time to fight back! Say NO to China...

Last week we noticed a rise in cyber attacks particularly - website Defacement attacks on many governments and organizations of different countries by the hackers around the world. Targeted countries include Singapore, Mexico, Philippines, Australia, Egypt, United States, Syria and many more. Out of all these targets, most controversial were Philippines and Australia, hacked by Activist group Anonymous. Last Sunday, Anonymous hackers from Indonesia defaced hundreds of websites belonging to the Australian Government , saying the action was in response to reports of spying by Australia. The websites, defaced with a message reading " Stop Spying on Indonesia ". A Philippine Anonymous hacker " #pR.is0n3r " has posted the President Benigno Aquino's three personal mobile telephone numbers online on facebook . Officials would not confirm if the numbers were really the President's. Aquino spokesman Ricky Carandang, " It's cyber vandalism plain and simple ," Carandang said. " We're dealing with it. That's all I can say for now. " Hacker urged his 10,000 followers to communicate directly with their president, but the numbers are no longer working. " The majority are not getting answers to so many issues. It is difficult to speak to a person through go-betweens. If we send him a letter we're not even sure he will receive it, " Hacker wrote in facebook post. In March 2013, Anonymous Hackers  also defaced the Philippines President 's website and other dozen government websites.

Chinese hackers defaced the website of the government owned Philippines News Agency (PNA) on Sunday.  Defaced page of the website was with the Chinese flag and the text: " China Hacker EvilShadow Team, We are evil shadow. We are the team. We have our own dignity China Hacker Lxxker. " The hackers shared news of the attack on Facebook. The site was back to normal after an hour. This last hacking incident comes days after the arrest of 12 Chinese fishermen suspected of poaching after their boat ran aground in a protected marine park. This was not the first time that the site was hacked. Last year , cyber attacks on several government websites were blamed on Chinese hackers during a standoff in Scarborough Shoal, a group of rocky outcrops in the South China Sea that is close to main Philippine island of Luzon.

A series of websites defacement has been conducted between Philippines and Malaysia over the dispute in the land of Sabah. Hackers claiming to be part of Anonymous group from Malaysian and Filipino and attacking websites of each other. It was believed that the first online attacks were made by Malaysians and defaced the government-owned site of the municipality Moal Boal, Cebu, hours after a skirmish erupted between police and Sulu gunmen on Friday. Meanwhile the online shop of Philippine mobile services provider Globe Telecom was defaced by hackers claiming to be from the " MALAYSIA Cyb3r 4rmy ".
