Palo Alto Networks Patches Authentication Bypass Exploit in PAN-OS Software

Feb 13, 2025 Network Security / Vulnerability
Palo Alto Networks has addressed a high-severity security flaw in its PAN-OS software that could result in an authentication bypass. The vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2025-0108 , carries a CVSS score of 7.8 out of 10.0. The score, however, drops to 5.1 if access to the management interface is restricted to a jump box . "An authentication bypass in the Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS software enables an unauthenticated attacker with network access to the management web interface to bypass the authentication otherwise required by the PAN-OS management web interface and invoke certain PHP scripts," Palo Alto Networks said in an advisory. "While invoking these PHP scripts does not enable remote code execution, it can negatively impact the integrity and confidentiality of PAN-OS." The vulnerability affects the following versions - PAN-OS 11.2 < 11.2.4-h4 (Fixed in >= 11.2.4-h4) PAN-OS 11.1 < 11.1.6-h1 (Fixed in >= 11.1.6-h1) PAN-OS 11.0 (Upgrade to a sup...

Zyxel Patches Critical OS Command Injection Flaw in Access Points and Routers

Sep 04, 2024 Vulnerability / Network Security
Zyxel has released software updates to address a critical security flaw impacting certain access point (AP) and security router versions that could result in the execution of unauthorized commands. Tracked as CVE-2024-7261 (CVSS score: 9.8), the vulnerability has been described as a case of operating system (OS) command injection. "The improper neutralization of special elements in the parameter 'host' in the CGI program of some AP and security router versions could allow an unauthenticated attacker to execute OS commands by sending a crafted cookie to a vulnerable device," Zyxel said in an advisory. Chengchao Ai from the ROIS team of Fuzhou University has been credited with discovering and reporting the flaw. Zyxel has also shipped updates for eight vulnerabilities in its routers and firewalls, including few that are high in severity, that could result in OS command execution, a denial-of-service (DoS), or access browser-based information - CVE-2024...

How to Protect Your Business from Cyber Threats: Mastering the Shared Responsibility Model

Mar 20, 2025Cloud Security / Data Protection
Cybersecurity isn't just another checkbox on your business agenda. It's a fundamental pillar of survival. As organizations increasingly migrate their operations to the cloud, understanding how to protect your digital assets becomes crucial. The shared responsibility model , exemplified through Microsoft 365's approach, offers a framework for comprehending and implementing effective cybersecurity measures.  The Essence of Shared Responsibility  Think of cloud security like a well-maintained building: the property manager handles structural integrity and common areas, while tenants secure their individual units. Similarly, the shared responsibility model creates a clear division of security duties between cloud providers and their users. This partnership approach ensures comprehensive protection through clearly defined roles and responsibilities.  What Your Cloud Provider Handles  Microsoft maintains comprehensive responsibility for securing the foundational eleme...
