Cline CLI 2.3.0 Supply Chain Attack Installed OpenClaw on Developer Systems

In yet another software supply chain attack, the open-source, artificial intelligence (AI)-powered coding assistant Cline CLI was updated to stealthily install OpenClaw , a self-hosted autonomous AI agent that has become exceedingly popular in the past few months. "On February 17, 2026, at 3:26 AM PT, an unauthorized party used a compromised npm publish token to publish an update to Cline CLI on the NPM registry: cline@2.3.0," the maintainers of the Cline package said in an advisory. "The published package contains a modified package.json with an added postinstall script: 'postinstall": "npm install -g openclaw@latest.'" As a result, this causes OpenClaw to be installed on the developer's machine when Cline version 2.3.0 is installed. Researchers Warn of Sitecore Exploit Chain Linking Cache Poisoning and Remote Code Execution

Three new security vulnerabilities have been disclosed in the Sitecore Experience Platform that could be exploited to achieve information disclosure and remote code execution.  The flaws, per watchTowr Labs , are listed below - CVE-2025-53693 - HTML cache poisoning through unsafe reflections CVE-2025-53691 - Remote code execution (RCE) through insecure deserialization CVE-2025-53694 - Information Disclosure in ItemService API with a restricted anonymous user, leading to exposure of cache keys using a brute-force approach Patches for the first two shortcomings were released by Sitecore in June and for the third in July 2025 , with the company stating that "successful exploitation of the related vulnerabilities might lead to remote code execution and non-authorized access to information." Cybersecurity researchers on Wednesday disclosed 14 vulnerabilities affecting a commonly-used TCP/IP stack used in millions of Operational Technology (OT) devices manufactured by no fewer than 200 vendors and deployed in manufacturing plants, power generation, water treatment, and critical infrastructure sectors. The shortcomings, collectively dubbed "INFRA:HALT," target NicheStack, potentially enabling an attacker to achieve remote code execution, denial of service, information leak, TCP spoofing, and even DNS cache poisoning. SAD DNS — New Flaws Re-Enable DNS Cache Poisoning Attacks

A group of academics from the University of California and Tsinghua University has uncovered a series of critical security flaws that could lead to a revival of DNS cache poisoning attacks. Dubbed " SAD DNS attack " (short for Side-channel AttackeD DNS), the technique makes it possible for a malicious actor to carry out an off-path attack, rerouting any traffic originally destined to a specific domain to a server under their control, thereby allowing them to eavesdrop and tamper with the communications. "This represents an important milestone — the first weaponizable network side channel attack that has serious security impacts," the researchers said. "The attack allows an off-path attacker to inject a malicious DNS record into a DNS cache."
