cPanel has patched a flaw that it says lets a single hosting account take control of an entire server. An authenticated account holder with mail-related privileges can create files of their choosing on the server through EmailTrack and, from there, run code as the root user. cPanel published the  advisory on September 8  and says every supported version of cPanel and WHM is affected. The flaw is tracked as CVE-2026-67401 . cPanel's advisory calls it an SQL injection issue in EmailTrack, but does not say which cPanel feature or privilege an account needs. cPanel's developer documentation lists an EmailTrack module that tracks email statistics, and the advisory does not say whether that is the affected code. cPanel is web hosting control panel software. cPanel has patched a flaw that let an authenticated hosting customer execute SQL in the database's root context, crossing the privilege boundary between a cPanel account and the server's administrative database identity. It shipped in a targeted security release that closes two other routes past account boundaries. The database bug is tracked as CVE-2026-58048 (CVSS 4.0 score: 9.4) and affects all supported versions of cPanel & WHM, along with WP Squared. Reaching it requires a valid cPanel account and access to the MySQL/MariaDB feature. From there, the vendor says the account holder could execute arbitrary database commands with full administrative privileges. cPanel has released patches for a security flaw affecting domain parking and addon domain functionality in cPanel and WebHost Manager (WHM), which could allow code execution as the root user. The vulnerability, assigned the CVE identifier CVE-2026-65643 , impacts all supported versions of cPanel & WHM. cPanel described the issue as a critical security vulnerability and said that an authenticated account holder who can add parked or addon domains can create arbitrary files on the server. cPanel has released security updates to address a security issue impacting various authentication paths that could allow an attacker to obtain access to the control panel software. The problem affects all currently supported versions of cPanel and WebHost Manager (WHM), according to an alert published by WebPros on Tuesday. It does not have an official identifier. A critical vulnerability in LiteSpeed Web Server Enterprise could let a low-privilege website user gain root access on a shared-hosting server, cPanel warned in an  advisory published on September 14 . On such servers, many customers' sites run on a single machine, and an attacker with one of those hosting accounts could exploit the flaw to access or alter other sites and the server itself, according to the advisory. cPanel said it had received notice of the flaw, which affects versions before 6.3.7, and urged administrators to update to that release, which LiteSpeed  published on September 11 . The flaw can bypass the controls that keep hosting accounts apart, including  CageFS , cPanel said. CageFS is a CloudLinux tool that gives each hosting account a restricted view of the file system, so it cannot see other accounts or the server's configuration files. A maximum-severity security vulnerability impacting LiteSpeed User-End cPanel Plugin has come under active exploitation in the wild. The flaw, tracked as CVE-2026-48172 (CVSS score: 10.0), relates to an instance of incorrect privilege assignment that an attacker could abuse to run arbitrary scripts with elevated permissions. "Any cPanel user (including an attacker or a compromised account) may exploit the lsws.redisAble function to execute arbitrary scripts as root," LiteSpeed said . The vulnerability impacts all versions of the plugin between 2.3 and 2.4.4. LiteSpeed's WHM plugin is not impacted. The issue has been addressed in version 2.4.5. cPanel, a provider of popular administrative tools to manage web hosting, has patched a security vulnerability that could have allowed remote attackers with access to valid credentials to bypass two-factor authentication (2FA) protection on an account. A threat actor named Mr_Rot13 has been attributed to the exploitation of a recently disclosed critical cPanel flaw to deploy a backdoor codenamed Filemanager on compromised environments. Users of Advanced Custom Fields plugin for WordPress are being urged to update version 6.1.6 following the discovery of a security flaw. The issue, assigned the identifier CVE-2023-30777, relates to a case of reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) that could be abused to inject arbitrary executable scripts into otherwise benign websites.
