On the 10th Anniversary of Social networking website Facebook, the hacker group ' Syrian Electronic Army ' claimed that they managed to hack into the administrator account of the Facebook's Domain Registrar - MarkMonitor. The hacking group changed the Facebook Domain's contact information to a Syrian email address on the company's WHOIS domain information page, as shown. " Happy Birthday Mark! https://Facebook.com owned by #SEA " the group tweeted . Hackers also claimed that it had updated the nameserver information to hijack domain, but the process had to be abandoned because it was " taking too much time... One of the biggest Peru Domain registrar company (punto.pe) hacked by Lulzsecperu (declared by a tweet ) and Complete database of 207116 websites has been leaked on internet.  Leaked database include Domain panel username, encrypted password, Company descriptions. Hacked domains include all .PU domains ie. Banks , Institutes, computer security companies, corporates, colleges, government, personal websites. " We clarify that we have no malicious purposes, only prove that the security of PERU is bad and should be corrected. Irish websites Google.ie and Yahoo.ie went offline on Tuesday afternoon after their DNS servers were apparently hijacked to point to those of a third party, resulting in visitors being redirected to an 'allegedly fraudulent' address - farahatz.net. That site has now been taken offline, but it is not known whether the site could have been created with malicious intent. A short note on the homepage of the IE Domain Registry said the move followed a " security incident on Tuesday 9th October, involving two high profile .ie domains that has warranted further investigation and some precautionary actions on the part of the IEDR ." The IE Domain Registry have requested assistance from the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation. There was an unauthorised access to one registrar's account [MarkMonitor] which resulted in the change to the DNS nameserver records for the two .ie domains.
