Unpatched Magento and Adobe Commerce Zero-Day Exploited to Backdoor Online Stores

Unpatched Magento and Adobe Commerce Zero-Day Exploited to Backdoor Online Stores

Sep 05, 2026 Zero Day / Vulnerability
Attackers are exploiting a new unpatched vulnerability in Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce that lets them run malicious code on an online store's server without logging in, Dutch e-commerce security company Sansec said in an  advisory published on September 5 . Sansec, which discovered the flaw and named it StyleSmuggler , said attacks started on September 4. "Sansec is publishing early because stores are being compromised right now," the company said. As of September 6, Adobe has not published an advisory, a CVE identifier, a patch, or a workaround, and its  Adobe Commerce security bulletin index  lists nothing after the August 11 update. A successful attack gives the attacker code execution on the store's server and installs a persistent backdoor. Sansec said all current versions are affected, including 2.4.9, and that it reproduced the full unauthenticated chain on clean Magento Open Source installations of 2.4.7, 2.4.8, and 2.4.9. Its ...

⚡ Weekly Recap: Critical SAP Exploit, AI-Powered Phishing, Major Breaches, New CVEs & More

Apr 28, 2025 Cybersecurity / Hacking News
What happens when cybercriminals no longer need deep skills to breach your defenses? Today’s attackers are armed with powerful tools that do the heavy lifting — from AI-powered phishing kits to large botnets ready to strike. And they’re not just after big corporations. Anyone can be a target when fake identities, hijacked infrastructure, and insider tricks are used to slip past security unnoticed. This week’s threats are a reminder: waiting to react is no longer an option. Every delay gives attackers more ground. ⚡ Threat of the Week Critical SAP NetWeaver Flaw Exploited as 0-Day — A critical security flaw in SAP NetWeaver (CVE-2025-31324, CVSS score: 10.0) has been exploited by unknown threat actors to upload JSP web shells with the goal of facilitating unauthorized file uploads and code execution. The attacks have also been observed using the Brute Ratel C4 post-exploitation framework, as well as a well-known technique called Heaven's Gate to bypass endpoint protections. ...
New Wave of DPRK Attacks Uses AI-Inserted npm Malware, Fake Firms, and RATs

New Wave of DPRK Attacks Uses AI-Inserted npm Malware, Fake Firms, and RATs

Apr 29, 2026 Malware / Social Engineering
Cybersecurity researchers have discovered malicious code in an npm package after a malicious package as a dependency to the project by Anthropic's Claude Opus large language model (LLM). The package in question is " @validate-sdk/v2 ," which is listed on npm as a utility software development kit (SDK) for hashing, validation, encoding/decoding, and secure random generation. However, its real functionality is to plunder sensitive secrets from the compromised environment. The package, which shows signs of being vibe-coded using generative artificial intelligence (AI), was first uploaded to the repository in October 2025. The malware campaign has been codenamed PromptMink by ReversingLabs, which linked the activity as part of a broader campaign mounted by the North Korean threat actor known as Famous Chollima (aka Shifty Corsair), which is behind the long-running Contagious Interview campaign and the fraudulent IT Worker scam . "The new malware campaign [...] inv...

⚡ Weekly Recap: Password Manager Flaws, Apple 0-Day, Hidden AI Prompts, In-the-Wild Exploits & More

Aug 25, 2025 Cybersecurity News / Hacking
Cybersecurity today moves at the pace of global politics. A single breach can ripple across supply chains, turn a software flaw into leverage, or shift who holds the upper hand. For leaders, this means defense isn’t just a matter of firewalls and patches—it’s about strategy. The strongest organizations aren’t the ones with the most tools, but the ones that see how cyber risks connect to business, trust, and power. This week’s stories highlight how technical gaps become real-world pressure points—and why security decisions now matter far beyond IT. ⚡ Threat of the Week Popular Password Managers Affected by Clickjacking — Popular password manager plugins for web browsers have been found susceptible to clickjacking security vulnerabilities that could be exploited to steal account credentials, two-factor authentication (2FA) codes, and credit card details under certain conditions. The technique has been dubbed Document Object Model (DOM)-based extension clickjacking by independent sec...

ThreatsDay Bulletin: OAuth Trap, EDR Killer, Signal Phishing, Zombie ZIP, AI Platform Hack & More

Mar 12, 2026 Cybersecurity / Hacking News
Another Thursday, another pile of weird security stuff that somehow happened in just seven days. Some of it is clever. Some of it is lazy. A few bits fall into that uncomfortable category of “yeah… this is probably going to show up in real incidents sooner than we’d like.” The pattern this week feels familiar in a slightly annoying way. Old tricks are getting polished. New research shows how flimsy certain assumptions really are. A couple of things that make you stop mid-scroll and think, “wait… people are actually pulling this off?” There’s also the usual mix of strange corners of the ecosystem doing strange things — infrastructure behaving a little too professionally for comfort, tools showing up where they absolutely shouldn’t, and a few cases where the weakest link is still just… people clicking stuff they probably shouldn’t. Anyway. If you’ve got five minutes and a mild curiosity about what attackers, researchers, and the broader internet gremlins were up to lately, this week’...

⚡ Weekly Recap: Firewall Exploits, AI Data Theft, Android Hacks, APT Attacks, Insider Leaks & More

Dec 22, 2025 Hacking News / Cybersecurity
Cyber threats last week showed how attackers no longer need big hacks to cause big damage. They’re going after the everyday tools we trust most — firewalls, browser add-ons, and even smart TVs — turning small cracks into serious breaches. The real danger now isn’t just one major attack, but hundreds of quiet ones using the software and devices already inside our networks. Each trusted system can become an entry point if it’s left unpatched or overlooked. Here’s a clear look at the week’s biggest risks, from exploited network flaws to new global campaigns and fast-moving vulnerabilities. ⚡ Threat of the Week Flaws in Multiple Network Security Products Come Under Attack — Over the past week, Fortinet , SonicWall , Cisco , and WatchGuard said vulnerabilities in their products have been exploited by threat actors in real-world attacks. Cisco said attacks exploiting CVE-2025-20393, a critical flaw in AsyncOS, have been abused by a China-nexus advanced persistent threat (APT) actor cod...
Hezbollah Hacker Group Targeted Telecoms, Hosting, ISPs Worldwide

Hezbollah Hacker Group Targeted Telecoms, Hosting, ISPs Worldwide

Jan 29, 2021
A "persistent attacker group" with alleged ties to Hezbollah has retooled its malware arsenal with a new version of a remote access Trojan (RAT) to break into companies worldwide and extract valuable information. In a  new report  published by the ClearSky research team on Thursday, the Israeli cybersecurity firm said it identified at least 250 public-facing web servers since early 2020 that have been hacked by the threat actor to gather intelligence and steal the company's databases. The orchestrated intrusions hit a slew of companies located in the U.S., the U.K., Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the Palestinian Authority, with a majority of the victims representing telecom operators (Etisalat, Mobily, Vodafone Egypt), internet service providers (SaudiNet, TE Data), and hosting and infrastructure service providers (Secured Servers LLC, iomart). First documented in 2015,  Volatile Cedar  (or Lebanese Cedar) has been known to penetrate a large n...
Fortinet FortiGate Under Active Attack Through SAML SSO Authentication Bypass

Fortinet FortiGate Under Active Attack Through SAML SSO Authentication Bypass

Dec 16, 2025 Network Security / Vulnerability
Threat actors have begun to exploit two newly disclosed security flaws in Fortinet FortiGate devices, less than a week after public disclosure. Cybersecurity company Arctic Wolf said it observed active intrusions involving malicious single sign-on (SSO) logins on FortiGate appliances on December 12, 2025. The attacks exploit two critical authentication bypasses (CVE-2025-59718 and CVE-2025-59719, CVSS scores: 9.8). Patches for the flaws were released by Fortinet last week for FortiOS, FortiWeb, FortiProxy, and FortiSwitchManager. "These vulnerabilities allow unauthenticated bypass of SSO login authentication via crafted SAML messages, if the FortiCloud SSO feature is enabled on affected devices," Arctic Wolf Labs said in a new bulletin. It's worth noting that while FortiCloud SSO is disabled by default, it is automatically enabled during FortiCare registration unless administrators explicitly turn it off using the "Allow administrative login using FortiCloud SS...
BengalSEO Poisons Bing Search Results to Deliver MayaBot and Tech Support Scams

BengalSEO Poisons Bing Search Results to Deliver MayaBot and Tech Support Scams

Sep 08, 2026 Web Security / Phishing
Cybersecurity researchers have disclosed details of a sprawling search engine optimization (SEO) poisoning campaign that paves the way for malware deployment and tech support scams. The campaign, discovered by the DFIR Report in March 2026, has been codenamed BengalSEO . It has operated out of the Indian state of Rajasthan since at least 2015, driven by two IT service providers named WeConnect Solutions LLC (previously iConnect Soft Solutions LLC) and Garage2Global. Although Garage2Global claims to be a website design, SEO, and digital marketing services provider, the cyber threat intelligence platform said it unearthed evidence indicating the company develops malicious web infrastructure used in SEO poisoning campaigns as part of the BengalSEO scam cluster. "This group utilizes its extensive SEO and web development capabilities to create and promote lure pages with multiple Black Hat SEO techniques," the DFIR Report said in a technical analysis published late last mo...

⚡ Weekly Recap: Vercel Hack, Push Fraud, QEMU Abused, New Android RATs Emerge & More

Apr 20, 2026 Cybersecurity / Hacking
Monday’s recap shows the same pattern in different places. A third-party tool becomes a way in, then leads to internal access. A trusted download path is briefly swapped to deliver malware. Browser extensions act normally while pulling data and running code. Even update channels are used to push payloads. It’s not breaking systems—it’s bending trust. There’s also a shift in how attacks run. Slower check-ins, multi-stage payloads, andmore code kept in memory. Attackers lean on real tools and normal workflows instead of custom builds. Some cases hint at supply-chain spread, where one weak link reaches further than expected. Go through the whole recap. The pattern across access, execution, and control only shows up when you see it all together. ⚡ Threat of the Week Vercel Discloses Data Breach —Web infrastructure provider Vercel has disclosed a security breach that allows bad actors to gain unauthorized access to "certain" internal Vercel systems. The incident originated f...
