Cisco Patches 12 SD-WAN and IOS XE Flaws, Including Three 9.9 CVSS Score Bugs

Cisco Patches 12 SD-WAN and IOS XE Flaws, Including Three 9.9 CVSS Score Bugs

Aug 06, 2026 Network Security / Vulnerability
Cisco has rolled out updates to address multiple critical security vulnerabilities impacting Catalyst SD-WAN and IOS XE Software as part of a comprehensive internal security review. The security issues affect Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Software, regardless of device configuration, and Cisco IOS XE Software when it is running in autonomous or controller mode. "These vulnerabilities were found during internal security testing using existing testing processes as well as frontier AI models [...] and are not known to be actively exploited," Cisco said, urging customers to apply the necessary updates for optimal protection. The vulnerabilities impacting Catalyst SD-WAN Software are listed below - CVE-2026-20303 (CVSS score: 9.9) - An improper input validation vulnerability (which also covers path traversals) CVE-2026-20304 (CVSS score: 9.9) - An improper access control vulnerability  CVE-2026-20310 (CVSS score: 9.9) - An improper link resolution before file acc...
AWS, Google, and Vercel Agent Flaws Let Attackers Trigger Tools Without Running the Model

AWS, Google, and Vercel Agent Flaws Let Attackers Trigger Tools Without Running the Model

Aug 06, 2026 DevSecOps / Vulnerability
Security flaws in agent infrastructure from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, and Vercel let untrusted or forged instructions reach an agent's tools with no check that a model turn had authorized them. In several of the attack paths, the model never ran at all, so system prompts, content filters, and model-level guardrails never got a chance to intervene. The affected products include Amazon Bedrock AgentCore's InvokeHarness API, Google's Agent Development Kit (ADK) for Python, and the Vercel AI SDK harness packages for the Codex and OpenCode coding agents. AWS has fixed the managed service, Google addressed the issues in ADK 2.5.0, and Vercel patched @ai-sdk/harness-codex in version 1.0.29 and @ai-sdk/harness-opencode in version 1.0.28. These are not identical vulnerabilities and do not share the same attack conditions. AWS involved an authenticated remote request, Google's paths required attacker-controlled session events or user-authored function calls, and V...
Veeam, Terraform MCP, Django Patch Critical Flaws, Led by CVSS 10.0 Cross-Tenant Bug

Veeam, Terraform MCP, Django Patch Critical Flaws, Led by CVSS 10.0 Cross-Tenant Bug

Aug 05, 2026 Vulnerability / Software Security
HashiCorp, Veeam, and the Django Software Foundation have patched 11 vulnerabilities across Terraform MCP Server, Veeam Service Provider Console, and Django. The three most serious: An unauthenticated flaw in Veeam's console that hands over a managed agent's credentials, rated 9.5 A cross-tenant flaw in HashiCorp's MCP server that lets one user's Terraform token be reused for later users' requests, scored a maximum 10.0 on its CVE record A flaw in GeoDjango's spatial lookups that can write a file to disk and, on some setups, run code, reachable by a staff user with view permission on a registered model containing a spatial field Each has a fix available now. Operators should update Terraform MCP Server to version 1.1.0 or later, Veeam Service Provider Console to 9.3.0.35057, and Django to 6.0.8 or 5.2.17. Exposure is configuration-dependent: HashiCorp's bugs affect Streamable HTTP rather than stdio, Veeam's flaws affect version 9 build...

6 Reasons Why Device Code Phishing is the Fastest-Growing Threat of 2026

6 Reasons Why Device Code Phishing is the Fastest-Growing Threat of 2026

Jul 31, 2026 Phishing / Browser Security
Device code phishing - the abuse of the OAuth 2.0 device authorization grant to steal access tokens - has evolved from a niche red-team technique to an industrial-scale threat in under six months. Designed for input-constrained devices like smart TVs, printers, and so on, the device authorization login flow has been adopted by a wide range of apps and use-cases that it wasn't originally intended for - most commonly CLI logins. Researchers first described the attack vector in 2020, but it took until 2024 before nation-state actors like Storm-2372 started using it in the wild. By 2025, ShinyHunters was using device code phishing against Salesforce tenants at scale, then in February 2026, the EvilTokens kit arrived and criminal adoption skyrocketed. By April, Microsoft was reporting 10 to 15 entirely new campaigns every 24 hours . Barracuda counted 7 million attacks in four weeks . The FBI issued a standalone advisory on Kali365 , the first US federal agency PSA about a specif...
Azure Cosmos DB Flaw Exposed Platform-Wide Key That Could Access Any Database

Azure Cosmos DB Flaw Exposed Platform-Wide Key That Could Access Any Database

Jul 30, 2026 Vulnerability / Cloud Security
A now-patched vulnerability in Azure Cosmos DB could have let an attacker escape the service's Gremlin query sandbox and obtain full read and write access to databases across customer tenants, according to Wiz. Wiz , which codenamed the chain CosmosEscape , said the exploit chain began with a crafted query against a Gremlin database controlled by the attacker. From there, code execution on a multi-tenant gateway exposed a platform-wide signing secret and a regional account directory, allowing the researchers to locate a target and retrieve its primary account key. Microsoft blocked the vulnerable Gremlin entry point within 48 hours of the November 2025 report. Wiz said Microsoft completed the longer-term fix across all regions in July 2026 and eliminated the platform-wide key. "We appreciate Wiz's work in identifying and reporting this issue through coordinated vulnerability disclosure," a Microsoft spokesperson told The Hacker News. "We have fully addres...
Seeing AI Agents Is Not Enough. Security Teams Must Enforce What They Can Do

Seeing AI Agents Is Not Enough. Security Teams Must Enforce What They Can Do

Jul 24, 2026 Enterprise Security / AI Security
AI agent security is moving through a familiar maturity curve: adoption, then visibility, and finally, control. But what we've collectively discovered is that enforcing least privilege for AI agents is harder than we ever imagined. This is why there are so many approaches, from prompt filtering to identity-layer access controls. Where we've collectively landed is that understanding the intent of AI agents is essential to securing them. It's not easy, but it's the only path forward. Organizations approach this challenge with different levels of sophistication. For many, the current goal is simply to find the AI agents already operating across the business. That is a necessary first step. AI agents are appearing in SaaS platforms, developer environments, cloud workflows, customer support systems, productivity tools, and internal applications. Some are sanctioned, and others are not. But discovery alone isn't useful. AI agents are not passive; they reason, plan, c...

n8n Token Exchange Flaw Could Let Attackers Log In as Users From Another Issuer

Jul 16, 2026 Vulnerability / Web Security
n8n , the workflow automation platform, handed out the wrong accounts at login. On Enterprise instances configured to trust more than one external token issuer, it matched an incoming JWT to a local user on the  sub  claim alone and ignored  iss . A valid token from issuer A carrying a  sub  that belongs to someone under issuer B logged you in as them. Their password never came into it. n8n shipped the fix on June 24. The flaw is tracked as  CVE-2026-59208 . The CVE record did not go public until July 9. n8n  credits the report  to the GitHub account bearsyankees , whose profile lists Strix, which makes an AI penetration testing agent. Strix  says  it pointed out that the agent at the token-exchange flow and found the identity-binding bug there. Two issuers, one account Token exchange is n8n's Enterprise route for  OEM partners who embed the product , an  RFC 8693 implementation  that spares their users a second...
Unpatched Shark Vacuum Flaw Could Let Attackers Control Other Vacuums Region-Wide

Unpatched Shark Vacuum Flaw Could Let Attackers Control Other Vacuums Region-Wide

Jul 16, 2026 IoT Security / Vulnerability
Pull the certificate off the flash of a Shark RV2320EDUS robot vacuum, and you can run root commands on other people's Shark vacuums across the same AWS region: watch the camera, drive the robot, read the map of the house, and take the Wi-Fi password in plaintext. A researcher publishing under the handle tokay0  put the method online  on Monday, having tested it only against vacuums he bought himself. The flaw was unpatched then. He says SharkNinja, the company behind the Shark and Ninja appliance brands, has had his report since March. The policy attached to that certificate was never scoped to the device holding it. Present it to Shark's cloud broker, and the broker accepts whatever you publish, addressed to any device it serves. No memory corruption, no privilege escalation, no password to guess. The command that runs is an ordinary field in the device shadow, the per-device state document AWS keeps in the cloud. Using the certificate from an RV2320EDUS, the rese...
Researchers Say Claude for Chrome Flaw Lets Rogue Extensions Trigger Gmail Reads

Researchers Say Claude for Chrome Flaw Lets Rogue Extensions Trigger Gmail Reads

Jul 14, 2026 Browser Security / Vulnerability
Any other browser extension that can run a script on claude.ai can still trigger Claude for Chrome tasks aimed at your Gmail, your latest Google Doc and its comments, and your Calendar. Both this and ClaudeBleed need a rogue extension that can already run a script on claude.ai; the difference is scope. Anthropic restricted the arbitrary-prompt path in May as part of its response to the  ClaudeBleed  flaw, boxing external callers into a fixed set of tasks, but  Manifold Security  says the gap is still open in v1.0.80, the current release, eight versions later. If you run Claude for Chrome and any other extension that can touch claude.ai, you are in scope. In the default "ask before acting" mode, the forged task still hits an approval box you have to click. If you switched on "Act without asking," the hands-off automation mode, it runs with no prompt at all. The quickest guard is to turn "Act without asking" off and review any extension with permissio...
GhostApproval Symlink Flaws Could Let Malicious Repos Run Code in AI Coding Agents

GhostApproval Symlink Flaws Could Let Malicious Repos Run Code in AI Coding Agents

Jul 09, 2026 AI Security / Vulnerability
Researchers at  Wiz  found that a flaw in six popular AI coding assistants lets a booby-trapped code project quietly take control of a developer's computer. The assistant asks permission to edit one harmless-looking file, but the write lands on a sensitive one instead. The affected tools are Amazon Q Developer, Anthropic's Claude Code, Augment, Cursor, Google Antigravity, and Windsurf. Wiz calls the pattern GhostApproval and published it on July 8. Three of the six have shipped fixes, two have not, and Anthropic disputes that it is a bug. The most exposed are the tools that change files before you can weigh in. How the attack works The attack abuses an old Unix feature called a symbolic link , or symlink , that the assistants fail to check. A symlink quietly points to another file elsewhere on disk, so writing to it actually writes to the target. Wiz built a malicious repository with a symlink named project_settings.json that really points to the victim's ...
Rogue Agent Flaw Could Have Let Attackers Hijack Google Dialogflow CX Chatbots

Rogue Agent Flaw Could Have Let Attackers Hijack Google Dialogflow CX Chatbots

Jul 07, 2026 AI Security / Vulnerability
A critical flaw in Google's Dialogflow CX could have let an attacker with edit rights on one Code Block-enabled agent compromise other Code Block-enabled agents in the same Google Cloud project. From there, they could read live conversations, steal the data users shared, and make the bots send attacker-written messages, including requests to re-enter a password. Security firm Varonis found it and named it Rogue Agent. The flaw affected only organizations that built agents with Dialogflow's Playbooks and custom Code Blocks, which let developers add their own Python. And it was not a remote, unauthenticated attack. Pulling it off needed the dialogflow.playbooks.update permission on one such agent, which limits the realistic attacker to a malicious insider or a compromised developer account, not a stranger on the internet. From that one foothold, though, the reach extended to every agent in the project. Google has fixed it, and both Varonis and Google say there is no sig...
Public GitHub Issue Could Trick GitHub Agentic Workflows Into Leaking Private Repo Data

Public GitHub Issue Could Trick GitHub Agentic Workflows Into Leaking Private Repo Data

Jul 07, 2026 Vulnerability / AI Security
A public issue can trick GitHub Agentic Workflows into leaking the contents of an organization's private repositories, researchers at Noma Security have shown. The attacker needs only to open a normal-looking issue on a public repository, with no stolen credentials and no access to the organization. If that organization has given the agent read access across its repositories, private ones included, the issue can steer it into pulling private contents into a public comment. Noma calls the technique GitLost . The target is GitHub Agentic Workflows , a feature now in public preview that GitHub launched in February. Instead of writing automation scripts, you write instructions to an AI agent in plain English in a Markdown file. The agent reads issues and pull requests, runs tools, and replies on its own. It can be powered by GitHub Copilot, Anthropic's Claude, Google Gemini, or OpenAI Codex. Workflows are read-only by default, but an organization can hand one a token with...
Forget Data Leakage: Shadow AI's Real Threat Is Access Control

Forget Data Leakage: Shadow AI's Real Threat Is Access Control

Jun 19, 2026 Agentic AI / SaaS Security
The first wave of enterprise AI concern was straightforward. It was simply employees pasting sensitive data into public AI tools. Security teams responded with usage policies, domain blocks, and data loss prevention rules. That response made sense at the time. It doesn't fit the problem anymore. Shadow AI has shifted from a data leakage concern to an access control problem. The threat isn't about what employees type into AI tools. It's about which AI agents are running inside the organization, what enterprise systems they're connected to, and what actions they're authorized,or not, to take. From passive tools to active actors Employees and business units are building AI agents at a pace most security teams can't keep track of. Custom assistants, coding agents, workflow automations, and agentic applications are being created across departments with some in sanctioned platforms, but many through browser extensions, SaaS-native features, developer tools, M...
LangGraph Flaw Chain Exposes Self-Hosted AI Agents to Remote Code Execution

LangGraph Flaw Chain Exposes Self-Hosted AI Agents to Remote Code Execution

Jun 12, 2026 Vulnerability / AI Security
Cybersecurity researchers have disclosed details of three now-patched security flaws impacting LangGraph , including a critical vulnerability chain that could result in remote code execution. LangGraph is an open-source framework created by LangChain to build complex, stateful, and multi-agent artificial intelligence (AI) agentic applications. "An SQL injection in LangGraph's function could allow attackers to gain full control via remote code execution of a server by exploiting weaknesses in how the system processes and handles data," Check Point said . The list of identified vulnerabilities is as follows - CVE-2025-67644 (CVSS score: 7.3) - A SQL injection vulnerability exists in LangGraph's SQLite checkpoint implementation that allows attackers to manipulate SQL queries through metadata filter keys. (Affects langgraph-checkpoint-sqlite versions before 3.0.1) CVE-2026-28277 (CVSS score: 6.8) - An unsafe msgpack deserialization vulnerability in LangG...
Agentic AI Is Transforming Defense, But Only Secure IT Infrastructure Will Maximize It

Agentic AI Is Transforming Defense, But Only Secure IT Infrastructure Will Maximize It

Jun 04, 2026 Artificial Intelligence / Defense Technology
Over the past several weeks, the cybersecurity community has been reminded how quickly frontier and agentic AI in defense networks can challenge our assumptions. When Anthropic's Claude Mythos model was made available to a limited set of organizations as a technical preview, it was reported that an unauthorized group claimed that it had gained access within hours. The incident, if true, was more than a possible breach. It was a warning. The potential impact of advanced AI on U.S. defense and intelligence networks is significant. As the U.S. government moves to deploy AI capabilities on classified networks, the opportunity is clear: advanced AI can help accelerate decision superiority for American forces . But the risks are expanding just as quickly, particularly as agentic AI begins to operate across sensitive networks, data environments, and mission workflows. AI adoption is not simply about deploying powerful models. It requires the right security, governance, and resilient...
What 2,000 Exposed Vibe-Coded Apps Reveal About the Limits of Most Security Stacks

What 2,000 Exposed Vibe-Coded Apps Reveal About the Limits of Most Security Stacks

May 29, 2026 Vibe Coding / Shadow AI
Shadow AI used to mean employees pasting things they shouldn't into ChatGPT. It now means something bigger: employees building full applications with AI, wiring them into production systems, and publishing them on the open internet. Without Security or IT in the loop. The artifact moved from a prompt to a product. The risk surface moved with it. In The Shadow Builders report ( get it here ), a new category-level investigation covered in May by Axios, WIRED, and VentureBeat, Red Access identified more than 380,000 publicly accessible web assets across the leading vibe-coding platforms. Roughly 5,000 looked corporate. More than 2,000 of those held sensitive corporate, operational, or personal data - sitting on the open web, deployed without basic access controls, often granting admin access by default to anyone who reached the URL. Six continents. Every industry is examined. No exploitation required. Inside organizations, passing their audits while these exposures were live...
When Identity is the Attack Path

When Identity is the Attack Path

May 21, 2026 Identity Security / AI Security
Consider a cached access key on a single Windows machine. It got there the way most cached credentials do - a user logged in, and the key stored itself automatically. Standard AWS behavior. No one misconfigured anything or violated a policy. Yet that single key, which was easily accessible to a minor-league attacker, could have opened a path to some 98% of entities in the company's cloud environment - nearly every critical workload the business depended on.  This real-world exposure was caught before an attacker could use it. But the takeaway is clear: identity itself, and every permission it carries, has become the attack path. Your environment runs on identity. Active Directory, cloud identity providers, service accounts, machine identities, and AI agents - all of these carry permissions that span systems and trust boundaries. A single stolen credential hands the attacker a legitimate identity - along with every permission attached to it.  Despite this, most security pro...
How AI Hallucinations Are Creating Real Security Risks

How AI Hallucinations Are Creating Real Security Risks

May 14, 2026 Artificial Intelligence / Identity Security
AI hallucinations are introducing serious security risks into critical infrastructure decision-making by exploiting human trust through highly confident yet incorrect outputs. When an AI model lacks certainty, it doesn’t have a mechanism to recognize that. Instead, it generates the most probable response based on patterns in its training data, even if that response is inaccurate. These outputs may appear authoritative, making them especially dangerous when driving real-world security decisions. Based on Artificial Analysis’s AA-Omniscience benchmark , a 2025 evaluation of 40 AI models found that all but four models tested were more likely to provide a confident, incorrect answer than a correct one on difficult questions. As AI takes on a larger role in cybersecurity operations, organizations must treat every AI-generated response as a potential vulnerability until a human has verified it. What are AI hallucinations? AI hallucinations are confidently presented, plausible-sounding out...
The Back Door Attackers Know About — and Most Security Teams Still Haven’t Closed

The Back Door Attackers Know About — and Most Security Teams Still Haven’t Closed

May 05, 2026 SaaS Security / Enterprise Security
Every AI tool, workflow automation, and productivity app your employees connected to Google or Microsoft this year left something behind: a persistent OAuth token with no expiration date, no automatic cleanup, and in most organizations, no one watching it. Your perimeter controls don't see it. Your MFA doesn't stop it. And when an attacker gets hold of one, they don't need a password. OAuth grants don't expire when employees leave. They don't reset when passwords change. And in most organizations, nobody is watching them. The model made sense when a handful of IT-approved apps needed calendar access. It doesn't hold up when every employee is independently wiring AI tools, workflow automations, and productivity apps directly into their Google or Microsoft environment — each one receiving a persistent, scoped token with no automatic expiration and no centralized visibility. That's not a misconfiguration. It's how OAuth is designed to work. The gap is t...

We Scanned 1 Million Exposed AI Services. Here's How Bad the Security Actually Is

May 05, 2026 Artificial Intelligence / API Security
While the software industry has made genuine strides over the past few decades to deliver products securely, the furious pace of AI adoption is putting that progress at risk. Businesses are moving fast to self-host LLM infrastructure, drawn by the promise of AI as a force multiplier and the pressure to deliver more value faster. But speed is coming at the expense of security. In the wake of the ClawdBot fiasco — the viral self-hosted AI assistant that’s averaging an eye-watering 2.6 CVEs per day — the Intruder team wanted to investigate how bad the security of AI infrastructure actually is. To scope the attack surface, we used certificate transparency logs to pull just over 2 million hosts with 1 million exposed services. What we found wasn’t pretty. In fact, the AI infrastructure we scanned was more vulnerable, exposed, and misconfigured than any other software we've ever investigated. No authentication by default It didn’t take long to spot an alarming pattern: a signific...
