The cyber crime investigating cell of the Mumbai police picked up Sujeet Katiyar and Santosh Joshi on Thursday from their Nehru Nagar office in Kurla. They have been booked for cheating, breach of trust and various other sections of Information Technology (IT) Act. Police said the duo will be produced before the court on Friday.

The complaint was filed by Dr Jawahar Shah, a homeopathic doctor who runs a homeopathic software development company, Mind Technologies, which employs approximately 45 people. Shah develops patent homeopathic sites for his clients.

The accused Sujeet Katiyar was a project manager in the company. He was provided with a laptop, internet stick connection, USB data stick and so on. "In April this year, under the pretext of buying a plot in his native place, Sujeet asked for a loan of Rs 7 lakh from the company, which it gave to him through cheque. Within a month, though, he stopped coming to office,`` said a company official.

On June 17, Sujeet called up his office and said he himself had started a software company. When the officials asked him to return the office property, Sujeet allegedly threatened them.
